While Yonge and
Eglinton is filled with great night life, this is a double edged
sword as late night it can become some what rowdy. The main
problems are with crime and disorder issues, break and enter,
street robbery, and auto theft. The Police Division in the area
( which is called 53 Divison) has been responsive to the problems
and created a crime management initiative called “Operation
Vertical Vanguard” . “Vertical” related to their targeting
crime in high and low rise buildings in the neighborhood and the
operation reduced crime by 10%.
