A 13-year-old girl was rushed to hospital and a 50-year-old man is facing charges after the teen’s throat was slashed at a condo building near Yonge and Eglinton Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the scene around 4:30 p.m., on Broadway Avenue.

A 50-year-old man was arrested at the scene, and has been charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. His name is not being released at this time.

Police tell CityNews it’s believed the victim and the suspect are known to each other, but their relationship is under investigation.

The teen’s injuries are non-life threatening.

The suspect will appear at the College Park courthouse Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. for a bail hearing.
